Samuel Laflin 1735-? and Abigail Plafond of Norwich.

The story starts with the baptism in May 1735 of a Samuel Laflin in St Nicholas parish in Colchester. His parents were Samuel Laflin & Elizabeth and his father Samuel was probably born around 1700. His baptism has not been found - he may have been connected with the family in Boxford and Edwardstone but at present this is not proven.

His son Samuel may have been the Samuel Laflin who moved to Norwich and married Abigail Plafond there in May 1756. Samuel and Abigail had four children, all born and baptised in Norwich.

There are likely marriages for their two sons and a baptism for Benjamin, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth. The other two children, Joseph and Adeline, were born around 1800 and could have been the children of either Robert and Ann or Joseph and Elizabeth. Joseph Laflin married Elizabeth Winters on Christmas Day 1830 somewhere in Norfolk.
