Samuel Laughlin 1831-1896 and Sarah Grimwood 1829-1899.
Samuel was the son of Jonathan Laughlin and his wife Elizabeth Bumstead, he was born on 27th February 1831 and his birth was recorded by the Baptists in Dairy Lane, Ipswich. According to the IGI, on 22nd May 1853 in the Ipswich Registry Office, Samuel Laughlin (son of Jonathan) married Sarah Grimwood (daughter of Christopher).

In 1861, Saml and Sarah Laughlin were living in Wherstead Road,
St Mary Stoke, Ipswich and Samuel was working as a labourer at a marine manufacturer.
Stoke is an area in Ipswich just south of the river and close to the docks. With
them were their four children, Walter aged 5, Elizabeth aged 3, Willm (should be
Alice) aged 2 and Fridrick aged 6 months.
In 1871, Samuel and Sarah Laughlin were living in Bramford Road, Ipswich and Samuel
was working as a labourer. By now thier family had grown to include seven children.
They were Walter (aged 15 and a labourer), Alice (aged 11 and at school), Frederic
(aged 10 and an errand boy), George aged 7 and Ada aged 4 (both at school), Emily
aged 2 and a son aged 1 month. Hannah Elizabeth (aged 12) was not at home.
By 1881, Samuel and Sarah Laflin had moved to Great Blakenham and Samuel was working
as a labourer in a Chemical Works. Walter (aged 25) was not at home, nor were Hannah
Elizabeth aged 22 and Alice aged 21. Those living at home were Frederick (aged 20 and
working in the Chemical Works), George (aged 17 and a groom), Ada (aged 14), Emily
(aged 12) and Albert (aged 10) who were all at school. Sarah’s widowed father,
Christopher Grimwood was also living with them. Ada Mary was married in Ipswich
in 1885 and Frederick was married there in 1887.
In 1891, Samuel and Sarah Lafler were still living at Great Blakenham but only
their youngest son Albert was still living at home. Samuel and Albert were working
as general labourers. Acording to the IGI, Samuel died on 3rd October 1896, when
he was 65 in the Bosmere district. Sarah died in 1899, aged 70, in the Ipswich
district.
