Charles Laughlin 1821-1903 and Rebecca Garrod 1824-1886.

Charles was the son of Jonathan Laughlin and his wife Elizabeth Bumstead. He was baptised on 9th May 1821 in Whitton and probably born earlier that year. In 1841, he was living with his parents in Whitton and working as a farm labourer. In the third quarter of 1843, Charles Laughlin and Rebecca Garrod were married in the Ipswich district.

Their two eldest children were born in Ipswich, but they seem to have moved back to Whitton around 1851 and were living there in 1861, when Charles was working as a farm labourer. They were also there in 1871 and 1881.

Rebecca died in the third quarter of 1886 at the age of 62. In 1891, Charles Laughlin, a widower aged 70, was living by himself and working as a farm labourer. Charles Laughlin died in the last quarter of 1903, aged 83.
