Benjamin Laughley c1773-1840 and Elizabeth Hawes c1775-1810.
On Christmas Day 1792, a Benjamin Laughtly, single man married Elizabeth Hawes, single woman in Mendlesham, following banns. They were both described as "of this parish" and so had been resident there for at least a year and a day. Since they later moved to Wetheringsett and their four children were baptised there, it is likely that Benjamin was connected to the the family of Benjamin and Ann "Laffley" who lived there from 1723. He may have been their grandson.
