Hall Laflin 1828-1868.

Hall was the son of Benjamin Laflin and Phoebe Gosling and was born on 2nd November 1828 in Bildeston. In 1841 he was living in Northgate Street, Bildeston, in the household of Isaac Ward a bootmaker, and working as a servant. He later moved to London and became an innkeeper (which probably did not meet with approval from the Strict Baptists at Wattisham.

A marriage was held on 1st October 1857 in the parish church of St Martin in the Fields, London. The groom was Hall Laflin, a bachelor of full age and a victualler living in Caledonian Road and the son of Benjamin Laflin, a draper. The bride was Ann Jones, a spinster of full age, also living in Caledonian Road and the daughter of Samuel Jones, a farmer. The witnesses were Chas. Perks and Jane Griffiths and all four signed.

By 1861 Hall and Ann Laflin were living at No 1 Grapes Public House, Great Earl Street, St Giles, London, Hall was described as a publican and Ann as a publican's wife. With them were a niece, Mary Ann Wilson, and a barman, Isaac Wells. Soon after this, they moved to Herefordshire where Ann had been born.

Hall Laflin died on 8th June 1863 at Eau Withington, Herefordshire (SO 545 425). He was an innkeeper aged 34 and the cause of death was "consumption 3 months". The death was reported on the 9th June by George Wilson from Eau Withington.

In 1881, Ann Laflin, a retired licensed victualler, was visiting the Barnes family at 110 Great Titchfield Street, Marylebone. She was a widow, aged 61, and a retired licensed victualler, born in hereford.

Ann Laflin died on 10th January 1900 at 8 Nelson Street, Hereford. She was aged 82 and the widow of Hall Laflin an hotel keeper and the cause of death was "natural decay". The death was reported on 12th January by William A. Wilson, a nephew from Westbury on Trym, Bristol.
