Jacob Laflin 1804-1876 & Hannah c1810-1885.

Jacob was the fourth son of James Laflin and his second wife Ann Ramsey and was baptised in 1804. He witnessed Benjamin's wedding in 1825 and probably married Hannah shortly afterwards.

In the 1841 census (6th June), Jacob and Hannah were living in a cottage in Great Bricett and Jacob was working as a farm labourer. With them were their three children, Hannah (aged 10), Charlotte (aged 8) and Sarah (aged 4).

In 1851, they were living in Great Bricett and Jacob was working as a farm labourer. With them was their 8-year-old nephew Robert (son of Jacob's younger brother Abraham)

In the 1861 census (7th April), Jacob Laflin, age 61, was living in Great Bricett with his wife Hannah, age 51 and born in London. Their daughter Sarah had married James Cutling in Great Bricett in April 1857 and their other two daughters were away from home.

Jacob was buried in 1878 at the age of 74 (the inscription on their gravestone says he died on 23rd August 1878).

In 1881, his widow Hannah was living in Ipswich Road, Ringshall two nieces Jemima and Harriet (daughters of Jacob's older brother Benjamin) and a boarder, Benjamin Emsden (aged 9 and atschool). She died in 1885 at the age of 75 (the inscription on their gravestone says she died on 6th February 1885).
