John Jonathan Laflin 1837-1916.
John Jonathan was the fifth child and youngest son of Jonathan Laflin of Ringshall, and his wife Hannah Laflin. John was born some time in 1837 and baptised in Ringshall on 3rd September 1843, aged 6.

In 1841, John Laflin, aged 4, was living with his parents in Ringshall
and in 1851, Jonathan Laflin (aged 12) was still living there.
He has not been found in 1861,when he was 24, and he had probably moved away from
Ringshall by this date. In the last quarter of 1862 (26th November 1862) John William
Laflin married Harriet Pereira in Richmond, Surrey.
In 1861, Harriette Pereira (who had been born in Kennington, Surrey) was living at
4 Charlwood Lodge, Charlwood Road, Putney in the household of Joseph Johnston. She
was unmarried, aged 27 and working as a house servant.
Philip John Laflin was born on 22nd October 1864 in Cromwell Place, Putney.
His parents were John Laflin a bricklayer’s labourer and Harriet (formerly Pereira)
and the birth was registered on 14th November by his mother (illiterate).
They had another son William John Laflin born on 20th September 1866 in Ealing,
Middlesex. At this time, John Jonathan was described as a builder’s labourer.
In the first quarter of 1870, Alfred James Laflin was born in Richmond, Surrey.
In 1881, "Mr Laftin" and his wife Harriet were living at 12 St Matthews Road, Ealing
with Old Brentford and John (aged 43 and born in Ringshall) was working as a labourer.
With them were their three sons - Philip (aged 16 and born in Putney), William (aged 14,
a "hatter's boy" born in Ealing) and Alfred (aged 11 and still at school). Also present
were John's sister Jane (a dressmaker aged 35) and their niece Beatrice Horn (aged 8
and at school).
In the first quarter of 1888, Philip John Laflin married Louisa Morse in Brentford.
He worked as a nursery gardener and they had two children by 1901.
In the third quarter of 1890, Alfred James Laflin married Agnes Violet Worraker in
Brentford. They have not been found in 1891 but in 1901, Alfred was working as a
railway signalman.
In 1891, Harrit and William J. Laflin were living at 12 St Matthews Road, Twyford
Abbey, Ealing, Middlesex and John (aged 54) was working as a "bricklayer’s labourer"
With them was their unmarried son William Laflin,a bricklayer aged 24.
In the last quarter of 1891, William John Laflin and Rosanna Bell were married in
Brentford.
In the second quarter of 1899, Harriet Laflin, aged 66, died in the Wandsworth
district.
In 1901, John W. Laflin (widower, aged 65) was "occupier" in 12 St Mathews Road,
Ealing and working as a builder's labourer. John J. Laflin, aged 78, died in the
first quarter of 1916 in Brentford.
