Walter Laflin 1858-?

Walter Laflin was born in the last quarter of 1858 and baptised in July 1859 in Ringshall. He was the son of Benjamin Laflin and Charlotte Ellen (born Mullet.

In 1861, Walter Saffin (should be Laflin) (aged 3) was living in Ringshall with his parents.
In 1871, Walter Laflin (aged 13) was living in Ringshall with his parents and working as an agricultural labourer.
In 1881, Walter Laflin (aged 22) was living in Barking Road, Ringshall with his parents and working as a drover).

In the second quarter of 1882 he married Amelia Heard in the Bury St Edmunds district and their children were born there over the next few years. Helena Amelia Laflin was born in the last quarter of 1882, Walter Heard Laflin in the third quarter of 1884 and Bertie Laflen in the second quarter of 1885.

Amelia Laflin, aged 32, died in the last quarter of 1886. In 1891, Walter Laflin, widower, was living in 118 Northgate Street,Bury St Edmunds and working as a drover (sheep). With him were hisdaughter Milly (aged 7 and at school) and his sons Walter(aged 6)and Bertie (aged 5), both at school, and his niece Elizabeth Pearl (aged 23) who was probably running the household.

In the third quarter of 1895, Walter Laflin and Marion Butcher were married in the Bury St Edmunds district. In 1901, Walter and Maria Laflin were living at 118 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds and Walter was working as a drover. With themwere Walter's two sons, Walter (aged 16 and working as an errand boy) and Bertie (aged 15 and working as a miller).

Walter Laflin (the son) was married in the third quarter of 1910 and Bertie in the second quarter of 1915.
