Edgar Laflin 1853-1930

Edgar Laflin was born in 1853 and was the son of Jonathan Laflin and his wife Elizabeth (born Stockings).

Edgar was with his parents in Battisford in 1861 but had left home by 1871. In the last quarter of 1880 he married Sarah Ellen Jones in Marylebone and in 1881, Edgar and Sarah E. Laflin were living at 3 Romilly Terrace, Paddington and Edgar was working as a greengrocer.

Edward James Laflin was born in the last quarter of 1881 in the Kensington district and Annie Louisa Laflin was born in the last quarter of 1883 in the same district. Then the family moved, Ernest Alfred Laflin was born in the third quarter of 1885 in the Pancras district and Maurice Victor Laflin was born in the third quarter of 1888 in the same district.

In 1891, Edgar and Sarah E. Laflin were livng at 4 Queen Street, St Pancras and Edgar was working as a railway porter. With them were their four children - Edward (aged 9), Annie (aged 7) and Ernest (aged 5) who were at school and Maurice, who was aged 2.

In 1901, Edgar and Sarah Laflin were still living at 4 Queen Street, St Pancras and Edgar was described as a "servant, railways". Their eldest son, Edward J. Laflin (aged 19) was a cripple. Annie (aged 17) was a dressmaker and Ernest (aged 15) was a messenger boy. Maurice was only 12 and may have been at school.

Edgar may have died in 1930.
